Project Give's Generosity Brings Hope: A Heartfelt Thank You from Haven of Rest

At Project Give, we are always humbled by the impact our collective efforts can have on the community. This letter from Michael Solosky, Development Officer at Haven of Rest, highlights the profound difference we’re making in the lives of those facing challenging circumstances.

We had the privilege of presenting Haven of Rest with a donation that will help provide transportation for 867 individuals—offering them hope for a brighter future. Here is the letter we received from Michael, expressing his gratitude for your incredible generosity:

Dear Lisa and Project Give Members, 
Last night I was stunned when you presented me with the beautifully wrapped box containing 800 all day bus passes and 67 seven -day bus passes for a total value of $3,005.00! As I shared the good news here today with some of our staff the most frequent reaction was "WOW!!!"

I do not think that you ladies realize the magnitude of your gift! You will be helping 867 people with a little easier way of going about their job of getting back on their feet after life has handed them some very difficult circumstances. Another way of saying that is you are giving 867 people HOPE! Hope for a brighter future because they can make it to a job interview. Hope 

​as they start a new job and don't have to worry about how they will get to and from the job. Hope as a young mother takes her children to day care and then goes to work. Hope because they can make it to a doctor's appointment to help improve their health! 

Our Director of Development, Dr. Yvonne Brake said, in her 35 years here at Haven of Rest she has never seen this large of a donation of bus passes! You ladies from Project Give hit a grand slam home run in the last inning of the world series to help our folks win by providing a way for them to change their lives for the better through this gift! 

As a way of saying thank you and to help you grasp the magnitude of your gift, we would like to invite your group to come in for a tour and lunch. If needed, we could do that after the holidays in January on a Saturday morning. The tour takes about an hour.
