On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, supporters of creative expression and literacy gathered at Burntwood Tavern in Solon, OH, for the Winter Warm Up benefiting Lake Erie Ink. Hosted by Project Give, the evening was filled with warmth, community spirit, and a shared passion for empowering young writers and artists through the organization’s impactful programs. Project Give supports local nonprofits by finding small Northeast Ohio organizations with big needs and meaningful projects. Through fundraising and community-building events, Project Give unites women and sponsors to provide vital support while bringing people together to connect, learn, and make a difference. Lake Erie Ink has long been a champion of creative enrichment and literacy support for K-12 students, particularly those from under-resourced communities. Their programs provide a platform for young voices to be heard, offering workshops, mentorship, and special events like the Kids’ Comic Con—a favorite among budding storytellers and illustrators. The Winter Warm Up brought together friends, donors, and advocates for an evening of camaraderie, delicious food, and a deeper understanding of Lake Erie Ink’s mission. Guests enjoyed a lively atmosphere at Burntwood Tavern, where they connected over shared stories and a commitment to fostering creativity in the next generation. A highlight of the evening was the opportunity to hear firsthand from students who have benefited from Lake Erie Ink’s programs. Their stories of growth, confidence, and artistic discovery served as a powerful reminder of why events like this are so important. Attendees also had the chance to contribute directly to the Kids’ Comic Con, ensuring that young creators continue to have access to the resources and guidance they need to bring their imaginative worlds to life. Thanks to the generosity of the friends and sponsors of Project Give, Winter Warm Up successfully raised funds to support Lake Erie Ink’s ongoing initiatives. Project Give proudly donated $3,000 to the Kids’ Comic Con, helping to provide materials, workshops, and mentorship for young artists and writers. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful evening. Your support keeps creativity thriving in our community, and we can’t wait to see the incredible stories these young minds will create next.
