Empowering Epilepsy
Project: Patient Education Program
Website: www.empoweringepilepsy.org
Mission:
Empowering Epilepsy connects people with epilepsy—and those who care for them—with experts and peers for education, care, and friendship. Founded by people living with epilepsy, this organization anchors a caring community that helps members better understand and manage their treatment plans and live well with seizures.
Who They Serve
  • Individuals and families living with epilepsy across Northeast Ohio
  • Caregivers and community members seeking to understand the condition
  • People of all ages—from children to seniors—looking for support, education, and empowerment

About the Project
The Patient Education Program helps people with epilepsy and their loved ones learn how to manage their condition through personalized, evidence-based education.
Each participant receives tailored information about their specific seizure type, treatment plan, and proactive lifestyle strategies to improve quality of life.
Program elements include:
  • Expert-created educational inserts and materials for families
  • Free support groups for all ages (children, teens, adults, parents, and seniors)
  • Q&A sessions with top epilepsy specialists
  • Resources that help patients clearly communicate with their neurologists

Why It Matters
  • There are over 3.4 million people in the U.S. living with epilepsy, many lacking access to clear, personalized education about their condition.
  • Empowering Epilepsy bridges this gap—helping individuals and families understand their seizures, advocate for themselves, and find connection and hope.
  • Education transforms care: when patients understand their diagnosis, they experience better outcomes, fewer emergencies, and improved confidence in managing daily life.

Lasting Impact
  • Helps hundreds of individuals and families across Northeast Ohio live safer, more empowered lives
  • Builds community connections that reduce isolation and stigma
  • Equips families to communicate effectively with medical teams for better care
  • Creates lasting change by making epilepsy education accessible and personal

Funding Request
  • Total Project Cost: $92,600
  • Requested from Project Give: $5,000
  • Use of Funds: Offsets half the cost of printed materials provided to families, ensuring every participant receives educational tools that foster better understanding and communication with their care teams.

FOSTERING HOPE OHIO
Project: Journey Bags – Providing a sense of grounding and security during uncertain times
Website: www.fosteringhopeohio.org
Mission: Fostering Hope enriches the lives of youth in foster care, kinship care, and residential treatment programs across Northeast Ohio. Through trauma-informed programs, they inspire hope, create stability, and nurture resilience.
Who They Serve
  • Youth ages 0–18 in foster care or residential treatment
  • Over 15,000 children in Ohio’s foster care system, many facing trauma, instability, and frequent placement changes

About the Project
When children enter foster care, many arrive with nothing—sometimes carrying belongings in trash bags or with empty hands. The Journey Bag Program restores dignity and comfort by providing each child with a high-quality duffel filled with essentials and comfort items like pajamas, blankets, books, hygiene products, and a stuffed animal.
Each $100 bag includes:
  • Hygiene and self-care products
  • Comfort items (blanket, stuffed animal, book, journal)
  • Practical items like flashlights and socks
  • A handcrafted duffel and toiletry case made by survivors of human trafficking through The Aruna Project, creating a global ripple of empowerment

Why It Matters
  • Many children enter care suddenly and without belongings.
  • These thoughtfully curated bags reduce trauma, build confidence, and provide stability during one of the hardest moments in a child’s life.
  • Each bag sends a powerful message: You are valued. You are cared for. You are not alone.

Lasting Impact
  • Provides comfort and dignity to 900–1,000 children each year
  • Eases transition stress for foster care and residential staff
  • Offers children a lasting sense of belonging and continuity—something of their very own that travels with them wherever they go

Funding Request
  • Total Project Cost: $90,000
  • Requested from Project Give: $5,000
  • Timeline: Ongoing, July 2025 – June 2026

Believe in Dreams
Project: Dream Bedroom Renovations
Website: www.believeindreams.org
Mission:
Believe in Dreams empowers youth to rise beyond hardship and build resiliency through life-changing experiences. Their programs offer hope, connection, and opportunity for children who’ve faced adversity, trauma, or instability—helping them see that their future holds endless possibilities.
Who They Serve
  • Economically disadvantaged youth ages 8–18 who have survived non-medical trauma
  • Children experiencing challenges like parental loss, abuse, neglect, unstable housing, or exposure to violence
  • Youth who often lack access to enrichment opportunities or basic comforts

About the Project
For many children served by Believe in Dreams, having a bed of their own is one of their biggest wishes.
The Dream Bedroom Renovations Project transforms these wishes into reality—creating safe, comfortable, and inspiring bedrooms where children can rest, recharge, and dream bigger.
With Project Give funding, Believe in Dreams can:
  • Complete 6 full bedroom makeovers, or
  • Provide 10 individual beds to children in need
Each renovation is personalized to reflect the child’s style, interests, and personality—turning an empty space into a true sanctuary.

Why It Matters
  • 1 in 6 youth in the program dream of having a bed of their own
  • Many experience housing instability or lack basic necessities
  • A safe, comfortable bedroom supports better sleep, mental health, and self-worth
  • Every renovation is a tangible reminder: You are valued. You deserve comfort. You deserve to dream.

Lasting Impact
  • Creates a stable, personalized space for 6–10 children by June 2026
  • Encourages emotional healing, self-confidence, and a sense of normalcy
  • Reinforces that every child deserves safety, rest, and a place to call their own

Funding Request
  • Total Project Cost: $5,000
  • Requested from Project Give: $5,000
  • Timeline: Ongoing, with completion by June 2026

Summer Sip Recap: A Night of Generosity and Heartfelt Impact

8/6/2025

Last night’s Summer Sip was more than just a beautiful evening. It was a powerful reminder of what happens when women come together with purpose. Over 40 attendees gathered at Blind Squirrel Winery in Chagrin Falls to support Honey from the Rock, a local nonprofit doing deeply impactful work with children and families touched by the foster care system.

Thanks to our generous community and sponsor Pulp Smoothie & Juice Bar, guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks, while learning about an organization run entirely by volunteers, driven by donations, and full of heart.
Picture
Project Give proudly presented a $5,000 grant to support Honey from the Rock’s next chapter: creating a childcare and bonding space in their new, larger location. Founder Kathy shared an emotional presentation about the importance of this space- a room filled not just with toys and kid-sized furniture, but with dignity, joy, and hope for children navigating the trauma of foster care and family separation.

This space is designed for more than just play. It's a sacred place where siblings, often separated into different homes, can bond; where parents can reconnect with their children in a safe, comforting environment; and where joyful memories can begin to soften some of the pain these children carry.

As Kathy said, “My one-year-old foster son deserves more than a room with a table and chairs he can’t even sit on. These children struggle already with visitation. Anything I can do to infuse that trauma with joyful memories is an honor.”

We are humbled to stand beside Honey from the Rock as they build this much-needed space. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and showed up in support of families in our community. Together, we are making a difference.

Spring Fling Blooms with Giving, Community & Connection

6/2/2025

This May, Project Give hosted our Spring Fling fundraiser—a cheerful, purposeful evening filled with community, generosity, and spring blooms. Held at Breezewood Gardens & Gifts, guests sipped wine, enjoyed delicious food from Alesci’s, and came together to support a meaningful cause.

Attendees had the chance to shop for Mother’s Day flowers and garden essentials, with Breezewood offering a 10% discount for event guests. Even more generous--Breezewood donated 10% of sales from the evening back to Project Give, resulting in a $450 contribution toward our giving goals. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued partnership and support

Thanks to the generosity of our members and guests, we raised $3,500 for the Chat Pals program through Greater Cleveland Volunteers. During the event, guests learned more about how this inspiring program helps reduce loneliness by connecting older adults with regular, friendly phone conversations
It was wonderful to see so many members bring a friend, helping us grow our network of women committed to collective giving.

This event was proudly sponsored by Solon Family Dentists, whose support helped make the evening possible.

Together, we’re building something beautiful—one gathering, one nonprofit, and one connection at a time.
Thank you to everyone who made this spring night a success.
Stay tuned for what’s blooming next!
